The WestConnex underground motorway scheme is one of the largest and most significant infrastructure projects ever undertaken in New South Wales.
Digilin were engaged to provide a solution for a unique design concept on a series of substations that form part of the motorway system. Working in collaboration with cladding manufacturer Danpal, Digilin designed and manufactured a custom linear system to fit in between interlocking, semi-translucent, polycarbonate cladding sheets to illuminate the void between them using precise optics. The system was controlled using DALI, allowing facility managers to set scenes and control various sections of the substation facade independently.
We greatly enjoyed the challenges associated with bringing this unique design concept to life and look forward to cooperating with Danpal on similar projects in the future.
